olo Wedding Singer and Corporate Entertainer
Like many professional entertainers, Paul started his career as a Redcoat at Butlins in Skegness, where he endeavoured to mould and perfect all aspects of his craft and over the years, with over 4000 under his belt, as a performer, director, producer or compère, he has become the consummate performer whose talents are in high demand.
"Working at Butlins was amazing I got to work with some of the greatest variety performers of the time, Bob Monkhouse, Mike Read, Bruce Forsyth, The Nolans, Barbara Windsor to name but a few. Watching them perform helped me to perfect my own style. I am a great believer in 'Give them what they want' I have gone with this philosophy ever since. It's about the audience not me."
Moving from Butlins Paul began working for Haven Holidays which was the latest holiday company on the market. Bringing with him the experience he gained from Butlins he quickly climbed the ladder and became Entertainment Manager within 2 years and eventually became the Entertainment Manager at one of there premier parks with 23 team members including 2 bands, children's entertainers, dancers and singers. It was here he began producing and directing his own shows.
It wasn't long before he gained a reputation of being an all-round entertainer and his production shows were achieving great acclaim culminating in being awarded 'Entertainment Manager Of The Year' in 1996.
The word was out and it wasn't long before other companies where knocking at his door and he was enticed away to work for 'Warner Holidays' to work as Entertainment Manger at one of their resorts on the Isle Of Wight. In his first year he won Department Of The Year as he had helped the resort reach one million pounds in profit for the first time in its history. From here they offered him Entertainment & Leisure Manager at one of their historic stately homes. He remained with Warner Holidays for 10 years within their entertainment division winning many awards including Entertainment Manager Of The Year in 2001.
He introduced a modern feel to their product buy introducing new working practises and developing there entertainment product with new technologies and innovations. It was then he was recruited as technical & production advisor on all there shows and venues.
During this period he never forgot his routes as a performer and returned to the professional circuit as an Entertainment Booker for 'Dings Entertainment Agency'.
He continued as a professional solo singer travelling around the UK and abroad. He now resides in Cambridge and is currently touring the UK with his Neil Diamond tribute show and solo vocal show.
